Experience Uganda’s best of wildlife on a safari west of the country where you look out for Africa’s Great Apes the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable a UNESCO world heritage site, discover the abundant birdlife including the African Emerald cuckoo. Enjoy the sparkling waters of Queen Elizabeth that host a variety of wildlife such as the African elephant, buffaloes, hippos, and other big game while on a game drive and launch trip.
Proceed after breakfast, southwest of the country to Bwindi via Ntungamo-Kabale through the pleasant banana farmlands and scenic beauty of Kigezi Highlands. We shall stop in Kayabwe at the equator for a brief trip and at Igongo cultural museum or Agip Hotel for lunch. Arrive at the park evening and head to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast early enough, transfer for an ultimate tracking experience of gorillas to one of the 10 habituated groups. Head for registration at 07:30, take part in a general briefing at 08:00. The activity lasts for a few hours or the whole day depending on where gorillas were left the previous day, therefore reasonable fitness levels are required and we shall carry our lunch boxes plus water for picnic lunch.
Have breakfast at the lodge and head for a memorable nature walk in search of the park’s diversity. You will spot a variety of birdlife and Primates beneath canopies of the rain forest. Proceed to the lodge, check-out, and transfer northwards, of the park to Queen Elizabeth via the Ishasha sector known for tree-climbing lions.
A hearty start with breakfast at your lodge, have an early game drive exploring the park’s beauty including sparkling fresh and craters lakes, herds of kobs, buffalos, and elephants. The game drive gets you through the Kasenyi plains and Katwe crater – a salt lake. After about 3 hours of activities, have lunch at the lodge and later proceed for a launch trip along the Kazinga channel in the late afternoon/evening and have memorable stunning moments of a sunset cruise past the massive hippo population.
Today have breakfast early enough, head to Kalinzu forest reserve for tracking the humans in the wild. Have a nature walk in the forest exploring its ecology. Later transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe. Lunch will be enjoyed en-route.
This now marks the end of your 5-day experience in Bwindi Impenetrable and Queen Elizabeth National Park.
